Of course he has other things on his mind. How can he not? AO is only a week and half away. He has to be distracted. Both are huge deal. I won't mind much if he loses here to Baggy tonight but he should really scrape it out and even things out. Make it 3 all. I get that Baggy is a great player but Andy is on whole another level.
And if he's not distracted, then he has no business having such a slow start back to back. I like it how Federer, Nadal, Nole go on about business from the get go. No nonsense there. It's establishing your authority right away. You should let your opponent know who the boss there is. With that sort of attitude, your opponents will be half beaten even before they enter the court. If you let loose, they will be all over you like Kuku and Muller did. I don't like pampering too much. I am like Lendl!! lol
Lendl will help Murray hugely in this respect, whatever happens in Brisbane Murray is a massive contender at the AO.
I think what has held him back is despite great form in the early rounds when he has reached majors he has maybe made some of the early matches tougher than they needed to be, he is almost playing down to the other guys level rather than his own, so by the time he comes to face one of the big guns he doesnt have much left.
I feel like Ivan will help him and show him how to conserve energy in a major much like Roger and Nole have done, Rafa is an animal he can play 5 setters every day but that is not the norm and already we are seeing potential affects of some of his long matches.

I agree that Andy does make life very difficult for himself by making seemingly routine matches tougher than they should be. I'm not so sure though that he's playing down to the level of lower-ranked players, rather that his mind simply goes AWOL because he loses interest - and this is where we get the all-too-familiar mid-match slumps which are usually to Andy's detriment.
Federer admitted in an interview a while back that his mind too wanders off in these situations, but he does have the ability to haul himself back to the here and now very quickly. This is something Andy will have to learn to do and I'm sure Lendl will almost certainly have this at the top of his priorities' list.

Oh sh*t - the women are still playing their doubles match. Andy's match timed for 3.30 am now.

Ladies doubles match gone to a super-tie break thingy I think.
Andy's match should be on after this finishes.

Aileen.....
The funny thing about the livestreams is.. my hubby just bought a super-duper-all-singing-all-dancing-state-of-the-art-top-of-the-range laptop, and for whatever reason I can watch the streams better on our son's older laptop.
Go figure!
I even proved it to him by having them next to each other at the same time because he didn't believe me.
Oh well... I guess I have to take our son's laptop again.
So much for modern technology eh?
ttul and try to stay awake!

Even night matches in Melbourne can be late for me
but making the most of times like this. Actually, I think the USO is better for me, time difference wise.

Hopefully it will be a gripping match that you can't keep your eyes off! I also find that nibbling on chocolate helps

My eyes can barely see the screen, but then I've been on the computer since 11 pm to stave off boredom! Silly me - maybe should have gone to bed, but if I'd done that I don't think I'd have bothered to get up.
Yes, chocs would be great, but unfortunately I have diabetes - and I don't drink either!
