Andy will face 47th ranked Joao Sousa of Portugal in the second round of the Cincinnati Masters, after Sousa beat Chase Buchanan of the US in the first round. Sousa has had a fast developing past year and a half, already winning his first ATP title in Malaysia last October. Since then he's been one to look out for over the 2014 season, however is yet to deliver anything spectacular in his results. Unlike most Portuguese players, Sousa is accustomed to playing on the hard courts, so could threaten Andy if he is off his game.
This will be their second meeting this year alone, previously facing off in Acapulco where the Scot won in straight sets. Andy leads the head to head 2-0, the first meeting coming at the Australian Open in 2013.
