Cincinnati Murray vs Isner

Quote

Second match on grandstand following Benneteau/Janowicz which begins 11:00 EST in US.
Head to head Andy leads 2 - 0
Their last meeting was 2011 US Open 2011 QF
Match was 4 sets
7-5, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(2)

Good luck Andy!! Be focused and fight. Win the last point!! cmon yeah

I see that Andy is practicing with Jerzy on Grandstand Court. This will help him get used to the Court and the big serve. I remember watching Andy play Isner during the Hopman Cup and he was getting back nearly all Isner's big serves and won the match very easily. So Andy has beaten Isner or their three meetings.
So I'm going for a win in 2.

Good news about Andy getting some practice against a big server, and on the right court.

Some people seem to think that it should be easy for Isner, because he made the finals last year, but they seem to forget that Andy has won here twice!  Clearly, Isner isn't to be under-estimated, and can play better here than his ranking suggests, but that applies to Andy too!

Isner may get a lift from playing in front of a home crowd, but having done well last year, he may feel the pressure a bit more too.

Meant Grandstand, thanks for pointing out my mistake, if you go onto Official site and then go onto things to do and it gives you the schedule for the practice courts.

Thanks Michelle, I should have checked myself but did not know that courts being used for practice are shown on the official website.

Very wise decision to practice with the Pole although Isner's serve is much better than Janowicz's as he can mix it up a lot better and has better placement as well as kick on the second serve. With that said Janowicz's power on the serve alone should help Andy get into the groove of things......... as long as Jery doesn't double fault :L

Good points, but still better than getting poor Dani to stand further forward. lol

I do think one of the advantages for the tall servers is not just they serve big, but that they are a bit of a novelty. Same for lefties.  Reducing the novelty reduces its power.

Roger isn't safe, so hopefully Andy gets through here.
