How would it be a benefit? He'd have sod-all match practice on hard courts and go into the USO severely under-cooked.

As he was for Wimbledon and look what happened there. Twice.
He could do a quick 250 for prep.
Hard is his favourite he will be ready and very fresh.
Anyway he's broken back so its not over yet.

Get behind him, we all knew that we would have to board the Murraycoaster again at some point in time!

And how is that a *benefit* over going deep here, getting some good competitive practice and then having a week of rest? Especially if you think he'd play in a 250 (he wouldn't, that'd be retarded)

First serve has gone completely awol. Somehow still 40-15 up.

It's so silent I can hear the announcer going on about Serena Williams in the background. Pathetic atmosphere, really is.

I think we were enjoying the smooth sailing there for a while.
It would not be a big deal to me if he lost here.
The US Open is far, far more important & Andy has often come in tired to this event with unpleasant outcomes we all remember.

Well, he may have broken back but where's his game disappreared to? He seems to have lost his first serve and now Chardy breaks again. I just wanted him to have a good tourney so he went into the USO with bags of confidence. Do you think he's hurting somewhere, or is it just the rollercoaster?

He's really not. He's playing well but Andy is just gifting him too many points. If Andt was playing anywhere near as well as he was yesterday Chardy wouldn't even get the chance to break him.

Totally agree all is not lost if he goes out here today.

TOO PASSIVE.

It's like we've cycled back a year. Where's this aggressive Murray gone?

Forehand after forehand plopping into the service box. Dreadful.
