Andy hated missing RG this year and said he is going to take the rehab even more seriously, so that doesn't happen again. It's tough though I suppose, because he knows it's going to be a long term thing that has to be managed properly.

I hope he can find a way to deal with it, because if he really does have the potential on clay that many people say he has, it would be a shame if that wasn't realised.
2011 is proof of what he can do on the red stuff. I am convinced if he didn't have his back problems he would won a title by now on clay.

I'd like to be impartial, but I can't!

Dodig was just too good for Dan unfortunately.

Courage doesn't always roar - but wins Wimbledon

I missed most of Dan Evans against Ivan Dodig due to having a visitor with a screaming baby, but it looked like Dodig was just far too good. Still, 1 all at this point isn't so bad. It just makes the dubs more significant.

Yes, in the first game - 57 shots!

After the match the Briton said: "My goal at the start was to make it incredibly physical and the sixth point [a 57 shot rally] showed that. I missed some forehands at the start but after the first six games I found my rhythm. "I was happy with my return throughout and apart from the start of the third set where I lost a bit of concentration I finished well." - See more at: http://www.lta.org.uk/fans-major-events/Davis-Cup/News/2013/One-apiece-after-day-one-of-Croatia-v-GB/#sthash.qnErNsud.dpuf

I'm convinced Andy's back was bothering him far more than he admitted to in Canada and America.  Hats off to him for playing Davis Cup when he could be resting.  I'm pretty sure the British press won't give him the credit he deserves for playing though and heaven help him if he happens to lose a match - the detractors will have a field day.

This outdated and crazy event is good practice for Dan Evans but for Andy Murray it is an expensive waste of time

Not completely. There's a yearly maximum of 625 points available just in singles matches for a player who wins the Davis Cup.

Since Andy will always be pressured to play in the Davis Cup, it's much better for him if he can get GB into the World Group so that more points are available.

Andy Murray & Leon Smith will be locked in conversation tomorrow morning to decide whether the Murray back is up to doubles & Sunday singles

Russell Fuller ‏@russellcfuller
Smith told @DavidLawTennis for tonight's 5Live Sport on @bbc5live that Murray will 'lead the way' in the decision

Murray can't win the Davis Cup on his own and I reckon he'll be long retired before the UK can field a team of the strength required  to achieve this goal

GB are obviously not favourites but Andy is capable of winning two 5 set matches against anyone. And our doubles team is one of the best.
