Delighted he won, but quite disappointed that James Ward won't have a chance to beat Young.

Seems like the decision to sacrifice the doubles and conserve our man's strength for this match was a wise one. I was quite surprised by just how hard Querry fought.

What a great match, and some of Andy's shots were absolutely mind boggling. It was so good to see him moving so well on clay and playing Italy on clay will be good for Andy at the start of the clay season.

Great stuff. I guess much like seeing a British man win Wimbledon, who of us ever thought they would live to see Great Britain beat USA in the Davis Cup?

28 yrs
My apologies Apollo, I picked you up wrongly earlier.  It is indeed 28 years since GB made the QF of the World Group, which makes our success even sweeter.

You're both right. We haven't made the quarter finals in DC since 1986 (before Andy was alive, bless him!) but we haven't beaten the US since 1935. That bloke who used to be our last male Wimbledon winner was in the team Smile.

I love watching Andy (and the team) making history Smile.
