well, as ANDY has 7360 points now (I don't know if 500 points of Rotterdam is counted or not) and Novak is 9010, I think winning one or two grand slam will work!

I wish ANDY can get there ASAP Very Happy
I think Andy just have to win 2 MSs or 1 GS

Not really, Neil. You're forgetting that till Wimbledon Andy's not defending anything, and Djokovic is.

Let's look at it this way....

By the end of march, both players will be on the following...

Djokovic - 9010 - 1270 = 7740 + whatever he gets in Dubai
Murray - 7460 - 300 = 7160 + whatever he gets in Dubai.

Both lose 10 points from Miami, so that's not really important.

I.e. Murray is 580 points behind, so a masters series win in IW (1000) compared to a SF for Djokovic (360) , assuming a similar performance at Dubai means Murray will be the new world number 3.

(technically, he's only 470 behind as Queen's replaces Dubai when it drops off, HOWEVER if he gets more than 110 in Dubai then that replaces the queens from last year...Either way, it looks pretty promising. As long as Andy puts it two solid performances in the MS's at IW and Miami, he's got a great chance of being number 3 Very Happy )

It's cruel to say happy to see him out (he's a great player) but I like what is good for ANDY!

His fans seem to think that it is the best thing for "Dearest Roger's" career
his fans just freak me.  Whatever he does is the perfect decision which will guarantee him no 1 and the french and Wimbly.

I haven't read what Roger has said, but is it just the cynic in me thinking he can see nothing but another loss to Andy (or Rafa, I guess), and is doing whatever he can to avoid giving him another big boost?

Seems pretty clear that Frauderer is running scared of the Tartan GOAT. Shrug
