Murray is playing well, amazing defending today against Novak, I actually think the evening conditions will help Murray! slow the courts down a bit and help him to defend and get back a lot of Roger's shots in the day time in the quick conditions I would have been very confident in Roger doing the buisness pretty quickly but in a night match cool and therefore slower conditions, it probably won't be so straightforward Roger is going to have to play well to take the title for a 5th time there is no doubt it

Prepare to lose, you Fedlover, Andy loves wiping that smug look off your highness's - not mine's rubber face!  Super

I don't share your great confidence about that at all AK.
Well, at least you shall have an excuse handy, should the dreaded outcome transpire for your idol.

Whomsoever the slower conditions favour, it must help if you've got used to them and doesn't help if you haven't - that was my point ak.  And in a 3 set match Andy can't waste time adjusting to new conditions.

I do feel like faster conditions would suit Roger for sure, on a quick court Roger can hit through Murray, but Murray is playing well defending pretty well, so Roger is going to have to execute well to win the match if he is a bit off then maybe Murray can pull off another upset, we will see how it goes.

Like hes did in the Australian Open final or the US Open final? Wink  Talk is cheap at the end of the day! Both are playing well, Murray actually played the better today, no doubt about it, but Roger is more than capable of winning this for a 5th time for sure.

If my memory serves me well, Andy first beat Fed in 2008, one of only two players to do so, when Fed was supposedly at the peak of his powers.

Of course they are both capable of winning.  But if Andy wins I don't think it's that much of an upset, given how close they now are in the rankings.  You have to face it ak, your hero is on the way down even if it's a slow demise, and Andy is still on the way up.

I fully expect Andy to win - he's clearly the better player in best of 3 sets. And hopefully with the help of Lendl, will also be for 5 sets.

He beat Roger in Cincinnati 2006 which was a decent result a massive upset at the time he kind of announced himself with that win a little bit

^^^Beating Roger Federer is not an upset AK400.
And while I agree with you that hotter conditions would favour Roger more, as Ruthie has said, Federer has the benefit of being used to playing in such conditions for longer so it levels things out somewhat.
You nonchalantly claimed Federer would do the business quite quickly if the match had been played in the day. I dont believe that to be the case, but we shall just have to wait until the next opportunity presents itself for that to be settled, won't we?
Another thing, this is still a relatively fast hard court regardless of the time of day, so no excuses if Andy wins in straights.
As i think he will.

I'm guessing Roger's done with finals of slams now.
I almost regret that as it would be nice to see a rematch between the 2 now, with a maturing Andy.
Ah well.

There is no way on this planet that Andy will lose this match. It's gonna be something like 6-4 6-3. The gap between the top three and Federer (who's a clear number four in my book) will be exposed.
