Straight after winning, he was interviewed by David Mercer and then for some reason he was interviewed again. I think Fed wasn't sure what to say in the second interview.
Don't know what coverage you had but that certainly wasn't covered on the one I (and Aileen/others) were getting.  |

Apparently there were 2 interviews - 1 on Dubai sports only and the other we got to see. Bad PR at their end, not Roger's fault (this time). |

From what I could see (we had visitors,who have now gone) Andy was below par with his first serve and the two handed backhand, but he wasn't overwhelmed. Herr Flick played well but did I detect that he is somewhere short in the best human attributes? Andy your day will come but I doubt if you'll ever be able to organise such an adoring (and insufferable) batch of fans.

I don't think Roger knew that the second interview was the main interview. Both interviews were conducted in the same position, by the same man and the first interview was a lot longer. I'm not usually this much of a Federer defender but sometimes he is treated a bit harshly on Murraysworld. |
