Dubai QF: Murray vs Berdych
« on: February 29, 2012, 06:36 PM »
Berdbrain up tomorrow in the QF's, 10 am UK time again.
If Murray loses this, he's basically out of the top 4.

Rubbish!! Andy is 2740 points ahead of the number 5 World Ranked player ie Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, and that is miles off.

Andy has no points to defend here. So his points will increase. Even if Big Bird wins it won't mean much.
Del Potro is the one to watch this year. I think he will be challenging the Big Four.

Therefore, Joe had too much to drink when he wrote that but I am glad he opened this thread.

Guys, I mean that if he loses to Berdych, he basically will no longer be considered a part of the 'Big 4'. He'll just be an also-ran. The best of the rest.

That's nothing new - by many people's reckoning he already is. Just watch this space - Andy won't be number 4 for much longer and he won't be moving down! However, I do agree that it is an important match for him to win tomorrow - he needs to address the unbalanced H2H he has with Berdych.

I really think we have bigger things to worry about than ^^^ that. Andy’s ultimate goal is to win a Slam not beat Berdych or be a part of the Big 4 – let’s not forget.
Oh, come now, Joe with that avatar. Let us be better than them.

I like it. It's a good, fun picture, celebrating Nadal's 6th Slam.
