Touch the sky - and touch it he did.

Looks like a tricky draw to me and of course Andy will be match rusty. But hopefully that won't be a problem and we'll see the benefits of the training session with Mr L.
Hadn't realised the final is saturday - had been hoping to see 3 days worth as won't be home again until thursday night. Better set it to record the highlights at least.

Berrer tweeted earlier that he'd qualified and was hoping to get a good draw - drawing Andy definitely wouldn't have been what he was hoping for though! I think Andy should be ok, he's in a much better frame of mind than last year and should be focused in his first match.

Yes nightmare scenario for Berrer I guess.

I was just scanning the draw. Nole's brother, Marko (age 20, ranked 867) got a wildcard.
So Nole has extra motivation for the 20th anniversary of Dubai.
Andy definitely needs to show off some improvement.

Now that's a family favour if ever I saw one! This kid is clearly going nowhere, but gets a leg up thanks to his brother's fame!

I'd like to be impartial, but I can't!

Marko Djokovic has got the first match on Centre Court tomorrow as well! Bet the organisers are hoping it won't be a totally one-sided match. Will be very tough for him though - he's hardly played any matches at this level in his career, he plays mostly Futures events.

Oh that's scary for him, perhaps Djoko will cheer him on.

I think it's safe to assume that Marko will lose to Golubev.
He still pockets at least $11, 370 (last year's rate) for R1 loss. That single paycheck is bigger than his yearly earnings.
I hope he doesn't embarrass himself on centre court.

I was surprised to read that Nole has played very little tennis since the Open, he's been doing all sorts of things . Wonder if this won't work against him,you cannot afford to rest on your laurels. It will be interesting to see how he plays.

He has been training with Lendl in DelrayBeach, my point is Nole has not been training, he's been skiing, and attending various functions etc, little or no training.
