Oh dear...

Ben Rothenberg ‏@BenRothenberg
"It’s quite tough to move. I can see what they were obviously trying to do with the surface."-Murray on slippery clay in San Diego #DavisCup
Ugh!  Normal clay was probably going to be tough on his recovering back, never mind this stuff. Frown  If I was him I'd get the hell out and leave Ward and Edmund to get on with it!  Sorry, but I don't rate the DC very highly compared to the rest of a player's career.

Davis Cup will be early on Sunday, while the Super Bowl is on late around 5:30 p.m.

Somewhat worrisome that this is slippery clay.  Hope Andy has proper time to practice on it.

San Diego is beautiful and the temperature is always between 72 & 82, most of us wouldn't mind living there.

Having read that, it begs the question why the US picked on a makeshift venue when they must surely have plenty of established clay courts around?  If their intention was to make life as difficult as possible for Andy, then I hope it backfires on them.

I did because I realised afterwards that @matchpoint had beaten me to it with the article about the court conditions.
