Maybe he thinks its mad because we have been told by the so called experts for years that Andy's forehand is nowhere as good as all the other top players.
It isn't, well ''nowhere'' is harsh but it's a tier below Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic's forehands. Just because he hit the fastest forehand (allegedly) doesn't mean he has a really strong forehand.

Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

GROAN! Why do you have to pour cold water over things!
We've seen what Andy's forehand can be like. The only reservation I have is that it may not be as consistent as that of those three, but that doesn't mean it isn't there.

Sorry to beat the old drum, but there was nothing wrong with his forehand till Corretja came along

I just think that since his wrist injury in 2007, he has/ will have times/moments when he feels tentative in really 'hitting out' - due to natural physical and psychological reactions.
I think it is constantly in the back of his mind.
But when he's confident in it etc, it's great to see.

Just being objective.
In my opinion, Andy is currently hitting his forehand better than ever.

I'd have thought that after four years he might just have managed to get over that, but he clearly hasn't because he often mentions his wrist problems - and I remember last year's Paris Masters (I think it was anyway) against Nalbandian when he definitely did something to his right wrist, which fortunately turned out to be nothing serious, but I won't forget the expression on his face when he clutched it and hurried off court to have it checked out. I wonder if the fact that he's hitting it harder than ever is due to the Adidas team, or has he perhaps been getting a little psychological help?

Hopefully both!

It makes sense to me that Adidas would employ sports psychologists as part of their player development programme.

Sorry Robbie - I am NOT making this up, but I concede that "often" was the wrong word to use. Has has
occasionally
mentioned it both in live interviews and in the media when he's been having wrist problems Think Poland DC tie, Paris Masters 2010, Rotterdam this year ... but then maybe I just listen to, or read. more of these things than you do.

Such a serious injury must be at the back of his mind all the time. Every tome there's a tweak he must think "Oh no!" I remember him having wrist concerns quite recently too.

I was at Hamburg watching Andy when he go that injury and belive me there was a huge yelp when the wrist went. Brad Gilbert then made him paly another point which made him yelp again and this was subsequantly followed by a barrage of expletives in Gilberts direction!
