I had heard about the changes in scoring but not that they have to play singles as well......

I don't know too much about the doubles changes but I do know that they are going to make it so that a player's doubles ranking is the average between that player's singles and doubles rankings.  They are trying desparately to get the big names in singles to play doubles to enhance the doubles audiences and interest.  They are also shortening doubles matches and doing some other stuff to help playing doubles be easier on the singles players.  I sort of see the point, because players in singles would have to play doubles on their off days, or the smae day as singles, and it would be a lot to put on yourself.  But, for doubles specialists like the Bryan Bros, Knowles and Nestor, etc. this really hurts them.  Personally, I think they should just start to advertise the doubles players more, put them on TV, etc. so that they are well-known names as well.  Then people would want to watch them.  I personally love watching doubles at tournaments but I would love know the players better before seeing them.

totally agree with the 'lack of...' situation - however i don't think it will get much worse or more horendous than when Andy played Roger, godammit that was frightening...
