Time to defend a trunkload of points!

Seppi is a pretty consistent player, doesn't really have any weapons to hurt Andy.

Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

Well Andy had a good warm-up in the doubles, even though he and Hutchins were narrowly defeated.

Beat Seppi twice last year, in Rotterdam and then Queens, so hopefully a repeat performance.

My masters coverage starts at 12 noon, being 11 pm UK time Rolling Eyes but I don't expect to see an upset on my livescore at work.

Which one are you betting on Elly - 10 - 1 he starts brilliantly until someone he should defeat easily has an ' I'm playing off my tree' day and plops out somewhat ignominiously. Now watch the comments about Murray fans being negative - lack of support etc. I call it realistic and oh how we will celebrate when he finally gets his first (but not the last) GS.

I think he'll do good, today.  I'm kind of veering towards the opinion that he was trying new things with his game in Dubai. For sure, expectations run high, but it's only because we know what he's capable of.  I can't see him letting this one slip, though.  Consistent, decent serving will be important.

Agreed. When you think about it - anything he has developed has to be tried out in a competative match to see if it works and against which players it is most effective. All the 'pundits' who know him say his game is still developing (even Nadal makes improvements and he must be on to a winning formulae) We know Andy has the talent and if he could firstly improve his serve or at least make it consistent and get his natural serve and volley talents up and running, then we could see him advance to another level. This is what I am hoping for this year for Andy, he is young and has time to develop.

The Rotterdamn classic doesn't inspire much confidence, the conditions aren't condusive to Tennis that's easy on the eye and Murray's playing his first match of the tournament against someone whose acclimatised, so an ugly 7-5 6-3 seems likely.
