Stop me if I'm being unduly harsh, but I'm a bit peed off to see him playing doubles with Jamie this week. If he wants to overtake Fed, then why jeopardise that by knackering himself out in a 500, with a Masters in which he's the defending champion next week, straight off the back of a 250 title last week? Insane personal scheduling IMO. Is he not taking this event seriously?
Not Unduly harsh Joe I was thinking the same thing but I have a feeling he will go out tomorrow in singles, this week is about Jamie. But having said that he hardly broke a sweat last week. Yes this week will be harder (if he stays in) but he is fit and should cope at least he will be match fit!
My sentiments exactly, Joe and Tessie, and I too have expressed them already, but, should Andy beat Baghdatis, then a lot could depend on how far he and Jamie get in the doubles before Andy wilts in the singles. I truly can't believe he's so fit that he can go all the way in three consecutive tournaments.
Great article. Thanks.
I hope a lot of Andy-bashers read it and take note!
