I know exactly what you mean - like the run up to Christmas but knowing you won't get any presents. (that's never actually happened to me but its kind of how I imagine it)

Thanks Aileen but what I read in Independent suggested a different chronology ie that he was in Bristol after he'd made the announcement.  That could have been a mistake or perhaps he'd returned for treatment?
I've even seen it reported that Andy had already made up his mind before he saw the two specialists, so goodness knows which story is the right one.

From @AndyMurrayFans:

Hearing from close sources that Andy had his first practice on the grass this week.
Whilst I would like to believe it, I don't trust unnamed sources, whether they're close or not.  And if the weather has been so bad in London then it seems even less likely to be true.  I mean, how far would Andy want to travel just to get in a bit of grass practice given that I understand that the whole of the S-E of England has also been cold and wet?

Wonder where he's done that? Here in London it's been around 8 degrees with rain and hail the last couple of days. The ground must be soaking.

Today and tomorrow look good though.    But maybe Andy will want to come home to watch Hibs in the cup final.   Keep your eyes peeled Angie.

I don't trust unnamed sources either, but it looks like this is true. The article Angie linked to in the news articles thread says that Andy trained at Roehampton (they have grass courts there) on Thursday and was planning on training again on Friday but had to go indoors because of bad weather.

Sorry about that Katie.  I haven't looked at the news articles thread today yet.

I'm not too optimistic that we'll get a reaction from Andy, and that's assuming that he does get the poem, because he must be getting a lot of mail, so to respond to each one individually would be impossible.  However should we get one, which would probably be sent to Mark in the first instance, you can be sure that it'll be prominently posted.

It's so understandable that he can't reply to everyone even if an agent (or what ever the name is?)  will take care for a lot of his communication inlcluding the blogs, messages in FB etc. It's just in case....Smile

I saw a part of the SF Wimbledon against Tsonga today and Andy and it was obvious he had pain in his lower back  (2.54 after the match). Always the  same place. Nice to see the way Tsonga congratulates Andy on a very sportive way.

I never noticed that at the time flowerpower, but it's interesting because Andy was given eight injections to help the pain before RG which were intended to keep him going right through until the USO, so obviously it didn't go away completely, which makes his achievements last year all the more worthy.

Tsonga is my 2nd favourite player.  He's such a lovely person.

Indeed you're correct about not sending replies individually.

I sent him a picture to be signed and he didn't sign it, instead I received a brilliant signed postcard. I understood that Andy probably signed these postcards in a batch and simply didn't have time to sign individual images.

Totally random on my part, but I'm sat in bed watching the Olympic semi again. What a match that was. It's interesting though, even then, at times, you see Andy reaching that area in his back that was troubling him against Granollers.

Aileen, I love Tsonga, he's one of my favourites too. He always comes across as such a sweetheart. The respect he shows to Andy helps lol.

This exactly how I feel Our weather in the UK won't help Andy much we had a frost this morning  Hot water bottles and thermals for Wimbledon is a distinct possibility!!

My grandson's sports day on Friday it was dry and a bit windy when we got him home he had sunburn. He had been out for most of the day without cream. So it doesn't have to be really hot to get burnt.

Sadly if Andy did come up he must be feeling very disappointed.  Celtic won 3-0.

However there was a major and much anticipated boxing match at the O2 late night which went the full ten rounds and was decided narrowly on points.  I read somewhere on here that Andy had been invited to attend, so given his enthusiasm for the sport, he possibly accepted it.
