I think it's really exciting and a good move for Andy- am just a tad concerned that the one GS Lendl didn't win was Wimbledon. Maybe he can do so vicariously now!

Exactly, there's props for him too at Wimbledon.
Murray's easily one of the best Grass Tennis players he just needs to not crumble when he has Nadal or whoever on the ropes like last time.
If I was Murray there's no way I do it when Lendl was around. Theyll devise a plan and by golly Andy better stick to it. He just needs that final bit of confidence/toughness come final time to do that.
And there was no one tougher than Ivan.

Thanks Scotn - not seen this before.  The more I'm reading the more positive I feel about this partnership. I like what Andy has been saying; what Lendl has been saying and also what Tony Roche has been saying.  Apparently Roche believes Lendl can do for Andy what he did for Lendl.  According to Telegraph, which was delivered by mistake yesterday, Andy wants Lendl in his corner for the long term.  I'm sure this is one reason why he took his time deciding on who the new coach would be.  Sounds like they really hit it off and I like the fact that they discussed how to play different players -  two students of the game.   Of course people are right; we have to give the partnership time so too early to reach any conclusions at AO (unless he wins of course, in which case would suggest Lendl's steel already rubbing off.  But mustn't get ahead of myself, especially if Andy is going in with niggles.(

Awwww thats so sweet.I was thinking about what people are saying that it Will be very expensive to hire Lendl for Andy, but think how much more he will earn in sponsership alone when he wins a slam, (very soon ) especially if it was wimbeldon, very good investment if you ask me.  cmon yeah

Lendl needs the money. Have you seen the price of dog food? Mr Lendl has dogs + 3 kids... costs a bit that lot!
