I think Andy looked lethargic on Friday, there was not much fist pumping or trying to get the crowd involved, maybe he was more nervous about the weight of the nation being on his shoulders than he would have admitted to, Greg should have played the first rubber instead of Andy, Andy settled down in the doubles and his return of service was fantastic, I think he would have been much more up for Stan on the Sunday having got rid of the butterflies the day before. I'm sure he will realise that the training is important but be honest what were you doing at 18? (this is for the oldies). I for one was in the pub, and now that I'm nearly forty and bits of me are going south I realise the benefits of training, hopefully Andy will be a bit quicker in making the connection. I am going to enjoy his efforts for the rest of the year but I really hope after his training break he will come into his own and produce the spectacular tennis that we all know he is capable of, I haven't been this excited about tennis since Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe. Come on Andy give a mature lady some excitement.
We knew on Thursday night what the draw was and by then i think it was alot to ask for of Andy. Yes i think Bates should have played Greg against Fed also.
As for the crowd boy did we make a hell of a noise trying to lift him and by Saturday i had no voice left lol
