Yeah I tend to agree. But the fact is the bookies rarely get it wrong. They don't do emotional and are completely objective. I was watching the live odds in the Andy-Tipsarevic match. Andy was 2-1 ON at 4-4 in the 2nd set. Even though he was a set down and level in the 2nd set  the bookies had him very strong favourite to win the match. At that stage, in my emotional state, I thought Tipsarevic would still be favourite. But that's emotional thinking for you. The bookies on the other hand were almost certain Andy would come out on top and they were proved right. 

That's interesting that the odds were so in favour of Andy at that stage in the match. Though I suppose by that point things were looking up for Andy as he'd fought back from a break down twice. Like you though, I don't think I was still that confident of Andy winning the match!

A costly mistake for the bookies would have been the French Open semi-final between Federer and Novak. I always remember this match as they heavily backed Novak to win which I thought was a bit strange as Fed has a good record against him plus had been in many FO finals. I backed Fed to win with £5 and won £20 - one of the few occasions I was happy with a Fed win! Should've put more money on really, but I'm very cautious when placing bets.

Exactly.  So on that level alone it really doesn't make much difference whether or not Andy is lacking in match practice in this tournament.  One thing I am sure of is that Lendl will have him as prepared as he possibly can be in the circumstances.  The same thing can be said of Djokovic - his last two matches, especially the one against Monaco, were possibly only a temporary dip in form.  I watched him play Baghdatis and he played superbly even although Baggy pushed him all the way.  Andy may be a better player than Baggy, but he will have to play his A game from the start and keep his focus throughout.

I really don't care to predict the outcome of this match.  Perhaps there should be an "undecided" option in the poll?

Sounds scary stuff.  Fortunately thunderstorms and severe weather are forecast for today only - according to the US's weather.com - but at least they've managed to play the ladies'singles final and the men's doubles'.

Tomorrow's forecast is for sunshine with some cloud.

That really doesn't sound good.  Nothing on CNN or Fox news atm, so I guess it's bad but not so bad as to be making headline news atm.

Maybe it's not unusual for locals, but newsworthy for British journalists with new iPads (NH went strangely quiet last night/earlier today). But it must all add to the strangeness of the week for Andy.

Possibly.  Floods in Fiji making Sky News Australia headlines and a fatal shark attack nr Perth.

Hopefully it has blown over quickly.

Oh news on CNN is Taylor Dent and some academy the family run.  Actually it's a program with Pat Cash called Open Court Think

Evening, all!

I'm already in full anticipation for tomorrow's match, and I refuse to make any prediction. My fear is to jinx the match.

However, on another topic. I believe that Djokovic will start to have back problems much like Marin Cilic. Has anyone noticed as I have how deeply Novak bends his back and dips low when receiving serve? This is trouble for him in due course. It would appear to be a new strategy from the Djokovic camp. Silly!!!

Having said that I don't want Djokovic to have permanent difficulties as like many here on MW I am looking forward to the long term conflicts between Murray and Djokovic.
