Querry is a has been. If he ever was a "been". A couple of years ago he was a force to be careful with. Big serve, and all that.  Alas..
Harsh.

He's recently broken back into the top 20 for the first time since his injury, and has been rising steadily up the rankings for 11 months. He's very close to his CH he set just before his injury and is a player on the up. Not even at his peak, certainly not past it!

Take a look at this:

I'm watching the match right now and it seemed that Andy had some pain in his left thigh and wasnt moving well, made me worry and the announcers noticed it too. But then he started moving well again so I hope it was just a little niggly that went away.  The announcers that Andy fooled them.

Andy seemed to have great ball placement on his returns and was in great control. The kind of match we all need from time to time.

Andy talks about it in his post-match interview.

He said he did feel something not quite right for a few games, but it seemed to resolve itself, and having cooled down he still wasn't feeling anything, so he isn't worried about it.

This was the first time Seppi had come this far so very good tournament for him.

This, though, now is for Andy to take. He's got a tougher path as he will have to deal with an in-form Cilic and later Berdych, so it's about time Andy puts forward one great performance after another to ensure a title. Hasn’t won Masters in a while but I don’t blame him as he was too focused on the Slams last year. It’s however time for him to go for this Masters now that its’ within reach.

No pressure then!  Smile  Seriously, I agree. Andy needs to prove he can seize this advantage and deliver the consistency of performance needed through all his remaining matches. No doubt other players will feel the same.  There is still a real possibility of upsets, just hope Andy isn't among them.

Well, the pressure will always be there and it is for everyone. The field has opened up so much for him now, it would be a shame if he didn't go for it. It seems he may have tweaked something though so will have to keep that in mind as well. Seems okay now but who knows.

Probably too harsh, as you say...Just being flippant and wasnt in a very charitable mood last night.

But for a US nr1, he's not of the calibre we saw some few years ago. I dont follow his matches much so havent really been that aware about that injury.

Thanks for the link ;-)

Oh yeah, weakest American #1 for some time. But still a solid top 20 player who is capable of causing the top guys problems when he's on his game. He evidently was not against Berdych.

Certainly not 'god awful' or a 'mug' as some on here have claimed.

Donald Young is the true US number 1, he will prove that soon.
