Andy Murray - Olympic and USO champion! :)

So far in this tournament Andy's earned 600 points from beating Falla, Simon and Tipsarevic! Very good from a rankings perspective though it is a shame we've missed out on 2 matches.

Shame. If Andy had beaten Nadal he would gone into the Doko match with a lot more confidence.

I think he'll still be confident going into the match - he'll have the Dubai win in his mind plus the very close AO match. But the lack of matchplay may be a major disadvantage - 4 days without playing is a long time.

Not necessarily, but this is very strange. Looks like Andy is finally inside Rafas head. Overall, for Andy it has to be good.

I'm not quite sure what you mean Bevc. His losing % is clearly the worst in that rather insightful table youve provided against Rafa. But then Rafa matured as a player a lot earlier than Andy and has played many more matches. Hopefully he will start to turn the H2H a la djokovic in the coming years. As they have all (the other 3) played each other much more than Andy has.
I'd wondered which player Andy had played the most times (you were talking about a lopsided H2H), and this was the best table I could find, and it would appear that Andy has played Rafa the most times (but I could be wrong) but yes, he has a poor stat against him, but lets hope that tide is turning.

I am destined never to watch a match of this tournie! Final is on Sunday, which is my Monday, meaning me back at work and no, not a chance of a day off, as it's start of a new month (and short week) and hectic times for me

Nadal has done the right thing. For him. He wasn't getting past Andy and if he somehow did well he would have been beaten yet again by his nemesis. But if his knees are really going well he might be in for a clay court season from hell.

Ah that sucks, sorry for you Bev. A win on Sunday would make up for it though I expect!

Do we actually know how well Andy is playing? Due to the walkovers and the upset stomachs we have have only seen glimmers of brilliance from him. He could play the tennis of his life on Sunday or be a damp squib. its funny his most difficult draw turned out to be fortuitous, but if he beats the world number 1 he will have earned the title.

I know I'm paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?

I just did a little exercise. I looked at all the matches the Big Four have played against each other to see who has the best record. Wins/matches Winning % Nadal 53/76 69.73% Djokovic 31/66 46.96% Federer 31/67 46.28% Murray 18/45 40.00%
