It is great Andy will be promoting Set4tennis at Dunblane. It feels right that he will be parading the Olympic medals and the USO trophy at his home town rather than at Glasgow and not be taken advantage of by Alex Salmon (a fishy guy).

Agreed.  Giving his attention to the people from his roots is so so right.  Better for him to stay as far away as possible from Salmond - the guys detestable (my roots are Scottish so I'm allowed to say this)

Salmond is the next Hitler.  His views border on extremeism, to say the least.  I am Scottish also, but would never want to be associated with the guy and his ilk.

It's weird, all the Scots I know think Salmond is a berk and don't want independence. So where does his support come from?

Are you sure? Really?

Salmond has a ego and I wish he would put it away because it is going to be the failing on the YES vote but at this point he is by far and away the most successful politician in the UK. What is extremist about wanting a ballot for Scotland to control her own affairs? What views of his or the SNP cause you so much disdain?

That's a very good question, Joe. However, there are a lot of Nationalist nutters in Scotland who don't seem to understand the bigger picture - also many elderly folks see Salmond as 'doing things' for Scotland. I think he has a way of ingratiating himself as many Politicians do - However, I think he's transparent.

My son works in the Scottish Parliament. I could answer you, and some, but would compromise my son's future career.

Thanks Elly but as a "Nationalist Nutter" who doesn't understand the bigger picture, could you enlighten me? Could you give me some examples of what your bigger picture actually is, or at least wahat is wrong with my obviously smaller one?

I think the less said about that the better.
