England attacks condemned again
Ian Smith
Ian Smith was wearing an England shirt when attacked
First Minister Jack McConnell has condemned the attacks on a man and a boy wearing England football shirts.

Mr McConnell described the assaults on Ian Smith in Aberdeen and seven-year-old Hugo Clapshaw in Edinburgh as "entirely unacceptable".

Mr McConnell spoke out during First Minister's Questions. Prime Minister Tony Blair made similar comments in the Commons on Wednesday.

Police inquiries are continuing into both attacks.

They are treating the incidents as football-related racist assaults.

Grampian Police said they were disappointed with the response to their first appeal for information about the attack on Mr Smith, 41, who is disabled. He was dragged from his car in Aberdeen and beaten up.

I don't like him , and I don't like the hypocritical Scots either. Take from England,Live in England, never support England.

Well, why are you posting on a forum about him then?

Why should we support England anyways? I don't have a dislike for them, I was neutral as to yesterdays result, tell me one good reason why I should support England?

I think he just popped in to pick a fight. He's suffering from frustration-aggression because his beloved footie-team has been kicked out of their competition    where our Scottish Tennis Champ is going to win his.  yay yay yay

I don't dislike england or english people, i have half english brothers and sisters and an english step mum, i supported henman during his career....i just don't like the hyped up overpaid english football team! the media always build them up to be greatest team in the world and they're not even close to being the best! they have a team of individuals and will always underachieve! I'm happy to see them go home from the world cup with their tail between their legs!
