Also to call Murray a "weak link" is a very misleading title for this thread. After all, tennis is an individual sport - you'd think he was part of a football team and letting the side down ....

He's the weak link in the group (top 6) in regards to Slams, it seems a completely accurate statement.

Fuzzy! I was wondering where you were
Nice to know you're still about
And you've brought some friends too
You can just feel the love everywhere.......................................
Yes, can't you just!
I don't think I've seen everyone is such a despondent mood. You all reflect how I feel but I can't give up on the lad yet, any more than you can. Watching del P last night was a treat but I feel Andy will slip down the ratings a bit for a while and then hopefully, work his way up again. He has time - can he change things around to make it happen? Non-one knows.

There is no link between the players - they are individuals. He may be the odd one out, but he's not a link, weak or otherwise.

The link is they are all in the top-6, that is what the thread starter is clearly saying when he refers to him as the weak link of the group.

Joe's got it right .....
" He's the anomaly in the top 6 now " or ...., as I put it, "the odd one out" ......

The link is; Five have Slams and Andy doesn't. So I supposed he is not actually linked to the other five!!!

I think it's perfectly acceptable English and makes perfect sense and even if you argue on the side of semantics, it still is acceptable. But I know you'll never change your opinion on this so with the intent of not dragging this out, this is my last post on the mini-argument with you

Telegraph website has an excellent article, published Sept 11th entitled 'Unhealthy expectation levels on Andy Murray will not help his Grad Slam Quest' (don't know how to link!) Plus a bit on an impersonator on YouTube. Artocle very worth reading - perhaps a voice of reason in all the emotion.

He's taking the piss as usual, he knows the playes are linked by the fact they are all in the top-6. It's just 1v1, Joe is not agreeing with your argument.

I just think that worse things have happened and it's really not the end of the world. Hard to be positive but I'm just trying to stick with that thought right now
