Murray will meet Croatian Mario Ancic in the second round.

The pair have never met on the ATP circuit but did face each other in a friendly match.

"I played an exhibition match against him just before Queens [Stella Artois championship] last year and lost 9-5," said Murray.

"He's always going to be difficult to play against because he serves so well and when the ball's moving around quickly like it does here it's always hard to read his serve."

w00t This is something that i've been waiting for... Ancic's some one you grow to love at my sort of age, he's got some amazing tactics.  ranting But not tonight Very Happy All the best to Andy.  =D> He's going to need the luck and i don't think things will be as easy as last night.  Whistle

Yep, i think Ancic really came to to the scene (as far as i can remember) in about May 2005 as the next hope for Croatia. I faintly remember him causing an upset in a tournament.. but he's been round for a while.
Sorry i love this photo.  roflmao It's Ancic and Roddick.

Yup, sometimes a brilliant player and sometimes utterly dreadful. Who knows what Murray will come up against if it gets that stage. But I really enjoyed the Murray v Gonzalez match in Basl, I really like the way Gonzalez plays.
