so disappointed, but perhaps he's been off the court too long, just not match tough.  He's definitely not going to feel good about this, and you all need to keep the faith.  You know he's better than he played today.  No matter how hot the opponent is, you need to find the way to raise your level and come back.  He usually does this, just not today.

Well here's to a better performance at Cincy. confused

This is like if you support Chelsea and they recover their consistency in the second half of the season and get back in the title race, then lose in the Champions League semis to Barcelona, then get beat at home to Bristol Rovers 9-0.

Winning a few matches would help. Going into the USO with two defeats in a row is about the worst preparation possible.

4 losses in a row before MC this year, makes the SF on his worst surface.
Consecutive Canada MS wins, 0 USO QF's.

Exhibitions before AO, Consecutive Slam F.
Consecutive Doha wins, 0 AO QF's.

He doesn't need build up tournaments to get himself into form and while it'd be welcome if he put in more than zero effort it's not going to cost him.

No one is gloating. I am angry at how unprepared Andy was for that match. 1000 points pissed into the wind. Next time, play a tune up event, like LA or Washington and tank at the quarter finals. Just when he was recovering consistency on the calendar, he delivers that.
That's what's making me angry too.  Faffs around in training blocks when what he really needs is match practice.  As he hasn't got it here, then I see no real prospect of improvement in Cincinnati.

Thank God there are other players in this tournament who will be a pleasure to watch.

Well I hope you're right Lurking but can't say I feel too optimistic right now and no I'm not a sycophant.  But I am a fan who prefers not to put the knife into Andy as soon as he slips up.

meaning boogers in particular who was gloating from the moment Andy was broken in the first set.

Probably because Andy's playing was beyond rubbish and within a couple of games of the 2nd set it was obvious he wasn't even going to pretend to try and turn it around.

For one of the best returners (supposedly) in tennis, Murray has now gone 5 sets in tournament play without winning a return game.  What has he worked on in the last month, how to hit a ball into the net even lower than normal?

Where is that player from Luxembourg when you need him to be on the other side of the net?

Hasn't won a match in America this year. In 09 he had won 2 masters and another final. Even last year, 1 win and a quarter final, and an early loss to Fish. Now, Bogomolov, Young, Anderson.  All in straight sets.

Don't worry. Next time he will lose to Marcel Granollers, an improvement again.

Where's the player who routed Roddick at Queens?  Murray should be shown a video of that match to remind him how to play tennis.

It is just typical of Murray though, no consistency. One match unbelievably bad the next absolutely amazing.
