Of course Andy Murray will beat Fernando Gonzalez easy! He's having a winning streak these days and so will have the determination to win! I predict the result will be 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 to Andy!
Also i reckon he'll go on to win this tournament because theres not much competition to be honest is there? For example,  no nadal or federer so basically no competition lol  lol
Plus, i also heard that Andy was recently asked to go on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing! This may not be true but who else in here thinks that Andy on SCD would be fantastic - i'd love to see him dancing lol!
Neways thats pretty much all i have to say apart from i love andy murray n i think hes gonna be british number one by next year!
Love ya andy! xxxxx  Very Happy

end of next year definately Smile go andy!  Very Happy

but it may take a couple of months - points don't come so quickly once you hit the top 50, and he'll have quite a few points to defend by the time we come around to wimbers and the us again (yes i know its a long time away), and also he's still growing! - but obv as he is a topclass player he will do it!!

Welcome rose. Could I ask you to use ordinary black though, red reminds me of my teaching days. *shudder*

I love your enthusiasm and confidence in Andy. But there really needs to be a note of realism doesn't there? Smile

He may well become British Number One next year, but no competition left in Basle? Sorry, I have to majorley disagree with you there.

It isn't negative or putting our lad down. It's born of watching tennis prodigies ups and downs over many years. Smile

Next year most players will have watched him and sussed out his weaknesses. It's going to be a lot harder when he gets into the top 50. The novelty of being an "unknown" will have worn off and the rest of the tour will be itching to put him into his place.

The same thing happened to Leyton Hewitt.

in 2006? i doubt it....

and this is not IN ANY WAY to demean andys character or tennis, but we have to remember he's still only 18, by wimbledon he'll only just have turned 19. he admits that grass isn't his best surface, and although i would love him to win wimbledon at some point, i don't think it'll be next year. because he is so young he still has a lot to work on in his game, and one of his greatest strengths is that he knows this. his serve percentage isn't great and his temper can be a factor (although by all accounts federer got quite angry on court when he was younger). he is without doubt our greatest hope for the future - but leave him to develop at his own rate. it could take a year, it could take 2, 3 or 4.

theres no point putting unneccessary pressure - that'll come from the press i have no doubt.
