but i'm hoping we'll see the Andy playing like he was when he beat Stepanek/Ginepri etc.. and pushed Nalbandian, Federer..... and not the Andy who got beaten by Chela two weeks ago...... because if he's playing at his best, there is no doubt he can really push Ljubicic  goodjob

Absolutely right!!
Not an ideal draw really for him to say the least. BUT I bet Ljubicic isn't thinking it's a walkover, and IF andy can show what he gave last summer and Autumn, he could do well.
In my heart....COME ON ANDY!!!

In my head....great experience! Let's not forget he beat Schrichapan in Thailiand......(home favourite but not top 10 player)

I have faith in Andy to beat him  :goandy:

He usually plays really good as the underdog Also Andy's first serve is threatning so if he gets a good percentage of first serves than that will shock ljubicic and he will have a good chance of beating him.

Maybe Andy will win and maybe he won't, but I think winning at least one set against Ljubicic, even if he doesn't win the match, will be good enough.  goodjob

I agree one set for pride, although i still have a feeling he will win it  :goandy:

He has probbably learnt from his mistakes at the AO and thats to be less agressive and more patient with rallies.

Well if he loses, he loses - no big deal. Its certainly not a match he should be expected to win at this stage in his career.
If he play well - fantastic.
If he wins - bloody brilliant!

If he wins, it's almost like winning the tournament, it's like the finals in the first round - I like it!

Just imagine the confidence he will bring into the next round if he beats ljubicic. it's a really big match and if he does win I can see him winning the tournament. I will be behind Andy all the way :goandy:

This tournament could be his first great tournament of the year.

it is so typical Andy gets the top seed player in the first round! it is going to be a really tough match but still think there is a chance of Andy  winning. good luck Andy goodjob  udaman

I checked the telly paper at the weekend for the tennis on Eurosport 2 but there is hardly anything on at all, some days had nothing listed unless they have now decided to change it.

If Andy does go out in the first round he should maybe try to get into a Challenger just to give himself some more matches before his next tournament, he's not going to get match fit if he keeps going out in the first round.  Of course I am hoping he whoops Ivans butt. Wink

Looked on the Doubles Draw for Zagreb, Andy isn't playing.  He should do more doubles I think.

Hmmm depends if it affects his singles performance though...and theres always the issue of finding a partner...
