Andy plays Greek Vasilis Mazarakis in the first round.

Qualifier Mazarakis should be easy except for the fact that he has been playing on these courts for the past few weeks, and Andy, like good rum, matures with some time. Still Mazarakis is world no 126 and has been as high as only 115. So Andy should win. Also at this moment he should concentrate more on this match than the possible match with Davydenko.

Andy will be on at around 3:30(very rough estimation) Pacific time. I guess that comes to around 11 or 11:30 GMT ??? Not sure abot it. If it comes to 11:30 GMT it will be 5 in the morning for me, meaning I will get no sleep for the next 30 hours or so with the cricket going on too.

yes GO ANDY!!!!!! he's got this... but he WILL choke if he thinks about davydenko... but there is one reason that davydenko is ranked so high... he's not that great compared to some others (awesome compared to any of us) but he just plays A LOT of tourneys and doesn't get injured too often.

I think you are right David, Davydenko seems the weakest in top ten.

Should be interesting - I know Sky don't pick up coverage until 2moro (Sat) but any idea if Eurosport have the rights for tonight ?? Think

thats what the comentators around here were saying... they mentioned that his brother encouraged him to play about 30 tournaments last year. so 18 out of 30 best results (several of which were slam semis) put him well inside the top 10.

Well it's not quite as simple as playing loads of tournies = better rank - he did actually do really well in several of the slams/masters events last year. Although interestingly he went straight out (after byes) of Indian Wells and Miami last year (vs Blake and vs Monfils), so the signs are good.

Mazarakis will be no walkover tho.
