@benniebone
I disagree. Lol Fred Perry's achievements seemed to be remembered every day for 77 years Rolling Eyes
And followed Andy anywhere he went! he laid that ghost to rest (twice! US Open - 76 year wait, Wimbly 2013 77 year wait)

Andy's achievements  at Wimbledon will always be remembered in England but in time he will only be
a footnote in the history books    Fame  rarely lasts

Only England?

Fame rarely lasts ... now let me think about this one. lol

Only England?
I could make a comment but refuse to bow to that level of ignorance on benniebone's part.

English is a nationality not a race - therefore anti-English is not racist.

Then don't treat us like a different race.

Who is treating you as a different race???  And I don't see anyone being anti English - it was just a query to a remark that omitted Scotland, Ireland and Wales in remembering Andy's Wimbledon win which wrangles a bit given that Andy is such a proud Scotsman.

Don't know what that means.     You are not a race.   You are a part of the white race.

Racism can be based more on cultural or religious differences.

To take an obvious example,  Hitler was an anti Jewish racist.

No reason then that anti Scottish or anti English prejudice cannot be described this way

Thank you althusser.  That too is my understanding of the word 'racist'.

There are some geneticists who believe that the Jews are a race.    However. Hitler was usually referred to as being anti-Semitic.     I think you will find the dictionary defines race as being different to nationality.   The word is used loosely but that doesn't necessarily make it correct.

The thing is that there are no pure races. So when prejudice appears the key thing driving it is often some perception of cultural difference. Nation is one basis for some types, but there are many others. Eg  tribal, language,. The culture is key, largely because there are no purely racial grounds upon which a racism could be sustained.

Rubbish.    There is white on black racism or even black on white racism, sometimes within the same nationality.
