Murray makes modest forecast for 2008...

No surprise, really, as he's still in one match at a time mode, and the injury put the skids on the juggernaut. Probably a good thing as his head's now out the clouds...BUT my money's on at least one slam final next year  cmon yeah

This would be great - from The Independent today:

"The good news is that Andy Murray, having talked recently about the difficulties of accommodating tricky Davis Cup dates into his calendar, would be prepared to change his schedule next February.
This year Murray went straight from January's Australian Open to play in America, successfully defending his San Jose title, but he said yesterday that he would play in Europe in February 2008 if it fitted in better with national duty."

And the reasons for the Dubai entry all of a sudden slip into place. Seems he was confident we'd be in the world group!

An nice drive out to Rotterdam in February would be nice.

He could also take in Zagreb, after all he had promised to play this year after the 2006 wild card but had to withdraw because of injury.

I'd think he'll play all these this year. Field is usually tougher here than over in the US though.

A win by a whole 2 points..... That stands them in amazing stead.... one break point... This means nothing more than bragging rights for February. Good they progress in this tourney though.

And that's all that matters surely? A W's a W!

Your missing my point, if you read the BBC article it says "will stand them in good stead". My point is it won't at, all bar bragging rights.

I'm not denying it's GOOD that they won and it;s GOOD they progressed in this tournament. More practice together etc etc etc.

In Summary, the BBC article sucks IMO (surprise surprise)

I think it's valid to point out the obvious connection between this match and what will happen in February though. Even if it's not on clay, and even if it was only 3CTB sets, and probably not the exact team they'll play.

So he's just come out and basically said the same has Henman, no big news here.

Apparently he's not just said the same thing as Henman and it's bigger than we thought this morning. The ATP have approached Andy to ask him to eplain himself.
