Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

Yeah, it's down.

It just so happens that I receive alerts from my domain registrar about andymurray.com back from the days when I was interested in buying it.

We have noted that the following changes occurred between 22-Feb-2012 and 23-Feb-2012:
The domain expiration date has been changed:
   OLD: 24-Jan-2013
   NEW: 24-Jan-2012

The domain status has been changed:
   OLD: ok
   NEW: redemptionperiod

for the following name(s):
ANDYMURRAY.COM

Two things of interest:

1) The new expiration date is older than the previous one which is extremely odd. You should always have a new expiration date that is ahead of time.
2) The mention of 'redemptionperiod'. That's the period time that is automatically given to the owner of the domain after it expires to allow them to buy it back before it goes on the market.

Conclusion: They either forgot to renew or there was a very strange mistake in the renewal process. They will now buy it back before it's allowed to enter the market for the likes of you and me.
Thanks.  What a shambles that website seems to be.
I take it you wouldn't be interested in buying it again ...?? Whistle

Tempting! Very Happy

But this is pretty bad... it's not just that the domain's been left to expire but it went weeks past its expiration to allow for the redemption period to kick in. Generally domain hunters will see the redemption period as a signal that the owner wants to throw away the domain.

Somehow I don't think Murray's management team will be too impressed with this ...

Still not fixed. Unlike you Markus, you're on to things in a flash superman  Nice to see when you google Andy Murray website, Murraysworld comes up first

Ah, looks like Andy was on to it (or heard about it) - message on Facebook

Ivan Lendl reveals unusual coaching schedule with Andy Murray

Ivan Lendl has revealed for the first time his unusual coaching schedule with Andy Murray for the coming season. He will, for instance, not be with him the week before the French Open, choosing instead to prepare Murray's clay court game five weeks earlier in Monte Carlo.

"I'll be at the grand slams, obviously, but for me it's more important to see him play on certain surfaces in plenty of time before the big events so that we can work on things," Lendl said.

"If I worked with him in Rome on clay, that's only one week before the French and we're not going to be able to do anything. If I go with him to Monte Carlo then we have five weeks to work on stuff. If I see there is something that needs work or needs improving then we have time. It might be a little different to the usual system but that's never stopped me before."

Lendl said his golf, which he once considered pursuing as a second career, has improved since he started coaching Murray at the Australian Open in January.

Speaking after he beat Jimmy Arias 7-6, 6-2 on day one of the ATP Champions Tour tournament at Delray Beach in Florida, Lendl said: "My golf has improved since I started working with Andy. I've got a good system going where I come down here and stay overnight, then I get up early and get two hours of golf practice in before I hit with Andy at 10am. So my handicap has actually got a lot better recently!"

^^ Encouraging article.  Thanks. Smile  Of course it makes sense to get things sorted out as far as possible before Slams start.  Nice to know it's enabled Lendl to improve his golf handicap. Very Happy

Hmmm - wonder what Andy really thinks about it?  Pretty disgraceful way to conduct things imo.

I thought so too. A win win situation....let's hope!

I rarely look at Andy's website as not much seems to happen there - or am I missing something? (Probably yes, as I don't look!)

His facebook page has just reached 498,000 likes, up 50,000 since the beginning of the year, and still rising by about 1,000 per day. I enjoy looking at this - some quirky updates, which sometimes inspire some amusing responses.

That's great to see his facebook likes increase so much Smile

His official website is awful - takes ages to load, the flash content isn't compatible with all mobile devices and some of the links don't even work properly. The previous version was much better and had some interesting training footage on it from time to time.

I didn't find it slow and had no difficulty with loading it, there was some interesting info on it eg Andy's Aussie Open blogs.

Can't speak for the flash content but I agree with the rest of what you say because I've had the same problems - slow to load and links that don't open.  The Aussie blogs were fine, but that's about it.  It certainly doesn't give a good impression despite the change of background according to where Andy is.

Also, I wonder if the Forum has been restored, because I see that that seems to be back, yet if you click on "Community" nothing happens.

Agree with you about the content.  Far too skimpy, and their reports about Andy are pathetically brief.
