A very interesting article here about Andy's physical training, with info from Jez Green. Andy really does look in great physical shape right now - full credit to him and his team for working so hard.

OMG I'm a right ditz this morning. Putting Olympics before Wimbles. Maybe because his win was so huge in my mind.
You are absolutely right, TeeJay. yes

That's okay lol. I agree though, the Olympics win was huge, so it does stand out. I just remember Andy doing it at Wimbledon because he got so emotional after beating Tsonga in the semi's. I can still see the tears in his eyes as he did it that day. I was too busy screaming at the TV to cry lol.

Thanks for the article, Katie. What these guys go through just to maintain that level of physical strength and stamina is just unbelievable.

I read a lot of news articles on Andy that I get from an app I downloaded to my tablet & phone, the app is pretty good with firsthand stories on andy & updated regularly. Now I would love to post some on here but haven't a clue how to  confused can anyone help? Don't know if this is possible from a tablet to cut & paste.

The two finger raise definitely started at Wimbledon. He wasn't doing it in Rome or any of the tournaments before that.

Edit: Or at Roland Garros.

It's an interesting article, thanks.

I see it was actually published in the Guardian, but some of the twitter bots re-do the link so you see it via their site, so they can claim advertising or something.  I sometimes have bother with them, so here's the direct link for anyone with similar problems.

Interesting article... didn't even know that nobody has won another slam immediately after winning their first...

I knew Federer didn't, or Djokovic of course, and thought Nadal had probably won the French back to back as his first two. I tend to think that back then, not that it's that long ago, Rafa was considered more of a clay specialist than anything - but I didn't realise no one has done it in the open era. For Andy to make history like that would be stunning, really fantastic. Fingers crossed!

Fiverings & teejay1, it is very interesting isn't it that nobody has won 2 in a row (after first). Keeping my fingers crossed Andy gets to be the first. Heck, I'll do anything if it helps him make history like this!
