Andy Murray - Olympic and USO champion! :)
|
A very interesting article here about Andy's physical training, with info from Jez Green. Andy really does look in great physical shape right now - full credit to him and his team for working so hard. http://aggbot.com/Sport-News/article/18711432

OMG I'm a right ditz this morning. Putting Olympics before Wimbles. Maybe because his win was so huge in my mind. You are absolutely right, TeeJay. That's okay lol. I agree though, the Olympics win was huge, so it does stand out. I just remember Andy doing it at Wimbledon because he got so emotional after beating Tsonga in the semi's. I can still see the tears in his eyes as he did it that day. I was too busy screaming at the TV to cry lol.

What these guys go through just to maintain that level of physical strength and stamina is just unbelievable.

I read a lot of news articles on Andy that I get from an app I downloaded to my tablet & phone, the app is pretty good with firsthand stories on andy & updated regularly. Now I would love to post some on here but haven't a clue how to can anyone help? Don't know if this is possible from a tablet to cut & paste.

The two finger raise definitely started at Wimbledon. He wasn't doing it in Rome or any of the tournaments before that.
Edit: Or at Roland Garros.

I knew Federer didn't, or Djokovic of course, and thought Nadal had probably won the French back to back as his first two. I tend to think that back then, not that it's that long ago, Rafa was considered more of a clay specialist than anything - but I didn't realise no one has done it in the open era. For Andy to make history like that would be stunning, really fantastic. Fingers crossed!

Fiverings & teejay1, it is very interesting isn't it that nobody has won 2 in a row (after first). Keeping my fingers crossed Andy gets to be the first. Heck, I'll do anything if it helps him make history like this!
