This is an extract from an interview Lendl did with his academy's website today.I'm putting this bit here, because it refers to Andy, but I'll post the full piece in Lendl's thread, for anyone interested Smile

"Without giving away any secrets, what has it been like to coach a young man at the top of the world, or almost at the top of the world?

"Working with Andy is great. He's a hard worker and I knew that before we decided we were going to work together. Because if he wasn't, I probably wouldn't be doing that if I wasn't convinced he was going to work really hard. So there is nothing he is not going to do if he believes it is going to help him. Whether it's a lot of yoga, he works extremely hard off the court, he works extremely hard on the court and all those things. That makes it fun because you can always feel good about whatever the result. Even if he didn't win the Australian Open, I feel good about it because I feel that he has gotten better through the preparation for the Australian. That he was worked really hard in practice; he had a very good tournament. Unfortunately, Novak won, but Novak played like the No. 1 in the world should play. Hopefully soon we can reverse it."

What is the biggest challenge in working with Andy for you and/or Andy?

"I can not speak for Andy so I am not going to. For me, the travel. I don't like the travel. I have traveled so much in my life that whenever I have to go somewhere, it's the worst part of what we do together. The best parts are when we are on the court and we are preparing and practicing. I like the practice weeks a lot more than the tournament weeks because it's more fun. You get to interact more and also you see how much better he can get or how much he is getting."

No problem Angie,I'm really looking forward to it too! Smile Sounds like it's going to be great.

Although,I dunno,I have my doubts that the article is right about Kim being involved.Don't get me wrong,it'll be really cool if she is,it's just she and Andy have always been so careful to try and keep her privacy as intact as possible and well away from all the media stuff.I mean,if the documentary really does go into his private life then I guess it makes sense to feature her, seeing as she's such a big part of that.I'd just be a bit surprised!Still, what do I know really-all I'm going on is my time as an Andy fan, when whoever wrote that article probably has sources & knows far more about the documentary than they were allowed to write.

Guess we'll see when it airs anyway!Wish it wasn't so far away though,I hate waiting.

Hi dani  wave been listening to capital radio on way to work they were talking a lot about Andy's forthcoming documentary, think you will be seeing a lot of Kim in it. They said its following him, Kim & their dogs how they live when in Miami. Maybe that's the reason the doggies went with them this time.

Murray fires warning shot to Djokovic, Nadal and Federer: I'm rested and raring to go!

Andy Murray has a healthy glow to him after spending the past few weeks in Florida and believes he is primed and ready to go after taking a mini-sabbatical following his loss in the final of the Australian Open.

The 25 year-old Scot will hit his first shots in anger on court tomorrow when he partners brother Jamie in the doubles at the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells before taking his bow in the singles on Sunday, five weeks to the day after he was defeated by Novak Djokovic in Melbourne. His opponent in the second round, to which he has a bye, will be either Tatsuma Ito of Japan or Evgeny Donskoy of Russia.

Murray has been the least active of the men’s ‘Big Four’ in the past month, preferring to stay at his Miami base and get himself physically prepared for the arduous period ahead which takes in two hard court Masters events before the clay court and grass seasons.

Fired up: Murray has been resting after his exertions in Australia

He does not believe it will turn out to be a disadvantage, even in this tournament: 'Maybe in terms of not having played matches it is but I value my fitness very highly and it’s very important for me to be properly prepared,' he said. 'My mind tells me it is the right thing to do.

'I’ve done well before when I’ve taken five weeks off after Wimbledon and then come back in Canada leading towards the US Open. I think ultimately it will help me preserve my body and it should lengthen my career. I feel pretty good right now.'

Murray has lost in the first round at Indian Wells for the last two years but was encumbered then by the disappointment of missing out on the Australian Open, but with a Grand Slam now under his belt feels better placed to make a run at the season’s first Masters level event.

'It's quite simple, I've just got to play better than I have done here in the last two years at this event. If I'm not playing well in my first match I’ve got to hustle, chase down lots of balls and find some rhythm. We’ll have to wait and see but I played well here when I was younger (he was a finalist in 2009) and I like the conditions.'

Suck it in: Murray is hoping to put more pressure on Djokovic and Co this year

Murray made sure he arrived early in the California desert and has not noticed any great difference in the way that people regard him in America since winning at Flushing Meadows. This will be not just his first tournament since Australia, but his first in the United States since claiming its national title.

'I actually noticed a bit of a difference when I arrived in New York after doing well at Wimbledon and the Olympics last year. The better you do the more attention you get and you’ve just got to get used to it.'

With the biggest names getting into action this weekend Murray faces the prospect of a semi-final against Novak Djokovic, who this year has been in imperious form.

^ thumb up  The more I hear about this hotel the more I like it. Smile

Anyway I'm putting in an advanced order for cullen skink, followed by haggis, neeps and tatties, then either a clootie dumpling (if it's winter) or cranachan (if summer), finished off with oatcakes and Orkney cheese. lol
Mmmmm. I'd go for an Islay malt aperitif, then Cockaleekie soup, Salmon with new Ayrshire tatties,  followed by Blairgowrie raspberries with fresh cream.  Oh, and a pint of Orkney ale, with a wee Drambuie to finish.  Braw!

Ooh,Angie, thanks so much for telling me-that sounds really interesting!I'm pretty much guaranteed to love any documentary on Andy regardless of content, but I love Andy and Kim together,so if she is in it that'll make it even more interesting.

Oh,I SO hope the dogs make an appearance in it!I think they're gorgeous little things, and Andy's so sweet with them.I love Border Terriers-I've even got one of my own, although he's not nearly well-behaved enough to feature in any documentary!  w00t

And on my third night there, having enjoyed Aileen's and Fiverings' choices, I will have smoked haddock with a poached egg on top, followed by Steak pie made with best Glasgow fillet, tatties and veggies, Scotch trifle then oatcakes with Bonnet cheese.    I would nod to the Irish and have Guinness with my steak pie and a nice peaty Laphroaig to finish.

It would be good to be there when/if Andy has another Dunblane day.    Sometime after Wimbledon?
