Why would you want to write for a site like that? It's designed for angry people to bash players to no end. It rarely has a fair article on it and what is worse is that its one of the most popular sporting news sites on the web.

Firstly, that's a ridiculous generalisation. You've only read a handful of articles. The site has lots of good writers. Secondly, the site gives you a lot of exposure. Many writers get millions of reads per month.

I agree Angie.  Thought Judy was rather mean.   OK Andy wasn't grinning but he wasn't looking dour either.

Actually, I thought he looked half asleep as if he had just been awakened to make that video speech

Naw, she wasn't being mean. She was making a lighthearted comment at an awards ceremony in the heart of Murrayland. She knew what she was doing.

I thought the same, but I think the more likely explanation could be that he had just finished a hard day's training and was knackered.  Judging by all the 'ums' it obviously wasn't pre-rehearsed!

As for Judy's comment - once again it could well be an example of how humour very often doesn't translate into cold print.  Anyway it's the sort of comment my own mother used to make, so I don't hold it against her!

No, it isn't how the site works. I have written for B/R for a year and a half.

You submit a single sample article, then they tell you whether your writing meets the minimum standard. They do not say things like "you need to be more ruthless".

Andy Murray's win at Wimbledon was the most talked about topic on Facebook in the UK this year, ahead of even the passing of Margaret Thatcher and the birth of the Royal baby.
After ending 77 years of hurt by becoming the first British male winner at the All England Club with his straight sets win over Novak Djokovic in July, Murray's spectacular achievement topped a list of the most discussed events on the social networking site, according to research carried out by Facebook themselves.
The death of former Prime Minister Thatcher in April was the second-most talked about topic in 2013. The next-highest sports story on the list was the Champions League final between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund at Wembley on May 25, coming in at third. Bayern won 2-1 to secure their fifth European Cup.
Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement after 26 years as Manchester United manager in May, after leading the club to their 20th league title, featured at fifth place on the list, one spot behind the Duchess of Cambridge giving birth to Prince George in July.
The only other sporting moment to feature on the list was England retaining the Ashes against Australia this summer, at number seven. The release of videogame Grand Theft Auto V on Playstation 3 and X-Box 360 featured at number 10.
The appointment of Pope Francis was the most popular topic globally in 2013, with the Tour de France - won by Britain's Chris Froome - the ninth most talked about.
Most talked about topics in the UK:

1. Andy Murray wins the Wimbledon Championships
2. Baroness Margaret Thatcher passes away
3. Bayern Munich & Borussia Dortmund contest the UEFA Champions League Final at Wembley Stadium
4. The Duchess of Cambridge gives birth to Prince George
5. Sir Alex Ferguson steps down as manager of Manchester United
6. Call of Duty: Ghosts released on X-Box 360 and PS3
7. England retain the Ashes in cricket
8. The X-Factor returns to UK screens
9. The 'Bedroom Tax' is introduced in the UK
10. Grand theft Auto 5 released on X-Box 360 and PS3
Most talked about topics globally:

1. Pope Francis
2. Election
3. Royal Baby
4. Typhoon
5. Margaret Thatcher
6. Harlem Shake
7. Miley Cyrus
8. Boston Marathon
9. Tour de France
10. Nelson Mandela

You are seriously missing Andy ... some multiplication and data handling, the history behind women getting the vote,  a grammar test, project presentations on famous Britons and some festive French vocab. #busybees
