Cromlix House is due to open shortly on april 1st. Theres bound to be plenty of interest building in the media considering who now owns it. Heres a good deal on 5pm if anyone is interested in being one of the first to stay in Andys Hotel.

£169 per couple for an overnight stay plus a full Scottish breakfast sounded a bit pricey to me, until I checked out what Edinburgh's Balmoral charges.  Their current specially reduced Valentines's deal is a mere £261 per night, including breakfast and bottle of champagne and a box of chocolate truffles.

But that's a special 50% off introductory deal, and that being the case it would normally cost a couple £338 a night, which is what one would expect from a luxury hotel, although even Edinburgh's Balmoral Hotel charges £314 a night - but no doubt that price rises come the height of the tourist season.

Thanks for the information angiebabez.   It's so interesting to see it near completion. Smile

I'm not sure there's any point in comparing hotel prices.  From my experience of staying in supposedly budget hotels, that's not much more pricey than some, but there are so many factors that affect prices it's pointless trying to compare, unless you are on the point of booking one or the other, and never assume the official listed price is the actual price.

The most interesting thing there for me is that pets are welcome.  grouphug

I agree.  Most hotels, including luxury ones, not only offer package deals but prices vary according to the time of year, so will be cheaper in the winter months than in the summer months with prices usually peaking in July and August - and I hate to think what charges are like during the Edinburgh Festival when even modest hotels miles away from the city centre are packed full of visitors, so anyone wishing to come here in August really does have to book well in advance if they want a chance of 'cheap' accommodation.

I'd rather just stay in a travelodge.
