News this week is pretty sparse on Andy. No doubt it will pick up next week, with his entry in the Basle competition.

Do you have any thoughts on how he'll do in Basle?

hmm, yeah there are some really good players. Not sure if he'll get very far in this tournament, but let's just hope he gets put up against some easier players in the first rounds

Who's Goria? ( Sorry, it amused me. Grrrr, I loathe Coria)
Depends on the draw doesn't it? I can see Nadal pulling out. Although he's going to play this avo in Madrid, his knee isn't OK. He'll want to save his fitness for Paris and Shanghai I would have thought.

Goria's a new up and coming player, not heard of before! I believe he's related to an Argentine player, whose name slips my typing finger!...

I hope this Goria has a better personality than the Argentinian midget.
Cant see Teem in Basel after todays' performance. His movement was none existent towards the last few games.
It must be so disheartening for him. The skill is still there. Unfortunately the body isn't allowing him to use that skill.

Poor Teem - he is a sweetheart - don't think he gets enough credit for his achievements at all. It would be great to see him go out in style.

no one is sure about Nadal's knees - rumours have been going round that he will pull out of the doubles with Lopez in Madrid....nothing has been mentioned about Basle, but scheduale still stand as it is...i.e. he will play!
Rafa has tendonitis in his left knee, but on Wednesday, Spanish team physician, Angel Ruiz Cotorro, declared him fit to play, saying he could not do any further damage by playing.

oooo yea! Tiger definitly doesn't get enough credit for what he's done....well his records are stunning when you look at paper...
"Nadal is the only player
except Tim Henman
to defeat, both Wolrd No. 1, Roger Federer and World No. 2 Andy Roddick in 2004!!"
personally i think it's one hell of an acheivement!

Not to mention getting a career high of 4 in the world.
I get furious with ignoramuses, who know diddly squat about tennis apart fromthe 2 weeks a year it's on their tellys, dissing him.
In any other Sport, to reach that lofty position, not to mention being in the top ten for years, would be feted and shouted from the roof tops.
But, because he's never won Wimbers, he'll always be a failure in many people's eyes.
Idiots!

I really hope Tim does well in Basle and Paris and can hopefully get back into the top 20 for the Aus Open. I can't remember the last time he wasn't seeded for one of the big tournaments. A Tim - Andy final would be good for Basle
