I'm 0% Scottish so there's no sense of nationalism in this for me. I've just been a Murray fan for a while now.
Everyone knows I'm not positive in the slightest so I don't think my mind/heart can take rooting for quadruple the amount of people that I normally root for.

From what I saw today Laura was well able to deal what was fired at her! Some cracking returns.
Hi AndyND! Welcome to MW. I imagine (hope) they'll leave the medal ceremony until after the MD. Not sure how it's usually done mind but there's a fair few matches to play so it's not like they can spend too much time in-between matches with the ceremonies.
But what about the 90 minutes' rest Andy is entitled to? Fed isn't going to be a pushover - could go to 4 or even 5 sets. It's absolutely crazy scheduling. I can see no reason whatsoever why they couldn't put the singles first. This isn't Wimbledon where they have to kowtow to the Pimms Brigade. Not optimistic about a win here given their opponents. If Andy does have a very long match he's bound to be tired. Also Laura's turned into a very good player but she's still building up her confidence when it comes to occasions like this.

Aileen, I am afraid you have got this wrong. The singles is first at 2pm your time. They always play the singles first at any event.

The press have it wrong. Fed v Andy is first at 2 pm then the doubles. He will have to have a rest in between.

Are you kidding me? "Settle for a silver"! I'm so happy he gets a guarantee of a medal, not once but TWICE. Yes, it'd be great to get the gold but realistically speaking he's not going to unless Fed is injured or something. So I'm chuffed to bits he'll get at least two silvers. AWESOME!
What utter nonsense. Yes Federer is favourite but all this crap about it all coming down to whether Federer "let's" Andy win or lose is bizarre. Andy has beaten him 8 times in his career and is in some of the best form of his career.

Personally, I think Murray will win the singles. I do think winning the mixed doubles is a serious long shot, though. Robson was quite ropey in yesterday's match and Murray had to play out his skin to pull them over the line. It's a big ask for Robson to compete against basically the number one ranked men's doubles player and the number one ranked women's singles player.
