I honestly think it's time now for Andy to back away from DC and prioritise his own career, at the very least until we have another consistent singles player. Don't get me wrong, Dan Evans did well, very well, in the one tie, but we need someone to back Andy up, and there is no one just now. Maybe Leon could get someone such as Ollie Golding to play, rather than just being there. He might not win, but surely the experience would be good for him.
Which is one of the main reasons why Andy wanted to pull out of playing DC. He doesn't want just one player backing him up but would much prefer that Team GB learned to stand on their own feet rather than have him prop them up all the time. They'll have to do it anyway once he retires.
