It sitll works. Smile  I do remember seeing the match but, really, looking at it again now it seems like a storm in a teacup at least as far as the ball incident goes.  As Robbie Koenig says "So what?" if the ball hit Andy.  These things happen, and Delpo later said it wasn't intentional.  Of course we don't know what Delpo said about Andy's Mum but there was a feeling then that that particular spat went back to an earlier time.  A couple of young hotheads really and I'm glad Andy has had the maturity to put it behind him.  Bearing grudges is puerile and does nobody any good.

I do wish though that they'd leave Andy's biography until he retires.  We've already had his autobiography "Hitting Back" which was written when Andy was only 21, although I think it's been updated and renamed "Coming of Age" (or something like that), and it looks as though this book is going to be covering a lot of the same ground.  I love the suggested chapter titles though!

Good point Aileen. I've never seen the whole match in context and can't claim to know anymore about it than what I've read/seen second hand on here.  Incidentally I read the much maligned Hitting Back (got it out the library, didn't buy it) a couple of months ago and this incident doesn't feature in it at all so that maybe tells you something about its significance to Andy. He mentions disliking one player but it isn't Delpo.

I was given Hitting Back as a birthday present after it first came out but admit that, apart from the beginning, I didn't find it all that interesting - too many details - so ending up just dipping into it rather than reading it right through.  It has though come in useful if I want to substantiate a particular point in a post on here!

Thanks jules...just read about it, never actually saw the video.
I was actually more intereted in the video of the editor's choice...absolutely LOVED it!!! Love the background music too.

I was given it as a present also. And while I agree with you Aileen that autobiographies should wait until later in someone's career, I  have to admit I'm willing to make an exception for Andy [pure favouritism] and enjoyed Hitting Back.  So I'm definitely hoping I'll get the new one as a present too - conveniently timed for Christmas I note.
