Sorry if this is already posted , but this picture is on Andy's facebook with:
I have been named as "Ambassador of the Year" for 2012 by the Tennis Writers Association. The award recognises achievements on the court, conduct that shows tennis in the best possible light and co-operation with the media.
Its great to win the award and thanks to all the international tennis writers.
How nice that Andy is picking up awards on and off court. About time he was appreciated after all the flak he takes at times.
Thanks Elena !

Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

If you ask me his shirt is too tight!
That's exactly what the comms I was listening to were saying, particuarly as he was constantly tugging at it during the 1st set.
I think the ANDY boys have become a real feature at the AO now, which is great.

well when I suggested his shirt might be too tight a few days ago I was assured on MW that with today's fabrics it didn't matter. Andy himself said it's fine with him and the less fabric the better. I don't care what those eurosport idiots say but I still do think it must be uncomfortable playing with such a tight shirt in such hot conditions.
Agree that ANDY's boys now an institution which lovely to see. Again Frew M clearly didn't approve!

Thanks for all of the photos - very much appreciated.
Andy's always tucking on bits of his clothing. I just think it's something he does, and a habit he picked up when his shirts were much looser, and probably in more need of adjustment. If Andy thought they were restricting his movement, he'd have insisted on something different, so IMO any discussion of their relative tightness is an aesthetic one.

Mornning Ruthie and everyone! Pulling his shirt may just be a little habit, like Nadal does with his, anyway it wasnt a physical problem. Its just a very slim, fitted-cut and Andy fills it out with his muscles.
As for ANDY BOYS, we love them of course, but if you're the opponent's fan, one might not. However very noise, unruly fans that doesnt follow court-side behaviour code are much worse. ANDY boys never distrupt, or cause the players irritation when they are serving, so their behaviour is exemplary.
They are just miserable old farts those who complain.

I believe so yes! She came up to us in the foyer of Rod Laver just after the match so I assume she had just left the court as well

I don't honestly think Andy's shirts are a problem. He said after the match his shoulder was a bit sore. It was his shoulder he kept pulling at, not the shirt.

Had to guess which door you would exit.
Lovely to meet with you too. Fly back to NZ early Monday. Enjoy the rest of the tennis.

I agree teejay, he'd have changed to something else before now if there was a problem with the shirt.
This is what he said in his interview:
Q. For a while it looked like you were holding your shoulder. Is that all okay?
ANDY MURRAY: Yeah, it was just stiff. I would say my first five, six service games, but in the warmup for the match as well, yesterday when I was practicing. But I felt fine pretty much after the first set.

Personally, I think his shirt is great. I think if the shirt was looser there would be more movement in it and therefore more sorting and tugging. At least with the tighter shirt it sticks to the right part of the sweaty torso!
