I wasn't going to bother looking up what I expected to be an article by someone who didn't get the joke, in a paper/magazine(?) I knew nothing about. But I did - and can't see anything wrong with it
Adidas take the mick out of Andy Murray to hit back at 'no personality' critics
ANDY MURRAY'S sponsors hit back at the star’s critics with a hilarious tweet after he romped to victory in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.
Sports firm Adidas poked fun at fans who reckon the tennis ace is boring by posting a snap of the Scot with the words: “Not bad for a man with no personality.”
The joke, which also appeared as a newspaper advert, celebrated Murray receiving more than six times the votes of second-placed Leigh Halfpenny in the most one-sided “SPOTY” award ceremony for years.
Over the years Murray, 26, has been mocked for his dour manner.
But he had the last laugh by landing the gong after becoming the first British Wimbledon champ for 77 years. The world No4 even joked about his tone as he received his award saying: “That’s just my voice. Sorry.”
More than 14,000 people, including Murray, retweeted the message, which was posted just seconds after his triumph on Sunday.
