Andy's not really played very well as I thought, but you can't really derive anything form that.
He didn't have to play well.  In fact it must be very difficult playing an opponent of Zayed's standard because there's absolutely no opposition to feed off.

Tbh I'd like to have seen him tested a bit in his first match.

Which is why I never pay any attention to them.

Well done to Andy for that win. No contest really but nothing Andy could do about that. Nice to see Andy kept his focus i think that is going to be really important for him this year. We all know how Andy's mind tends to go walk abouts. Things will get tougher each round so nice easy start. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

What a dull match. I felt sorry for Zayed - such a mismatch.

It's a mistake Qatar giving such a low-ranked player a WC into the main draw - into the qualies would be understandable, but not the main draw.

yes And as much as I'm a fan of Andy, I didn't enjoy watching that at all. Quite uncomfortable, actually.

well it would have been an experience for Zayed (who has the most beautiful face) and I hope he'll have gained pleasure from just the few times he managed to have a real exchange with Andy.  Not necessarily a bad thing that Andy's first competitive match was so easy given the need to play the back in.  He looked pretty happy at the end.
But I think it could have taken longer to eat 2 bagels never mind play them  Whistle

Thanks. I meant is a 15 min bagel a match record for Andy.

Don't know what Andy's record is. Stuart Fraser says Greg Rusedski holds record for fastest men's tour match ever, beating Carsten Arriens 6-0, 6-0 in Sydney in 1996 in 29 minutes.

One of the qualifying matches this week was over in just under 28 minutes.

Glad this one was over quickly though, not very comfortable to watch

The guy probably paid them for a chance to play against Andy.
