Please tell me why should the English do not support Andy. They want a champion but are unwilling to give
Andy their full support. Then they wonder why the Scots get angry with them. Until they do without reservation there will always be friction between the two sets of supporters. Then if they don't maybe
it would be better for Andy to be Scottish and compete under the Saltire and not the Union Jack. Think
No LB......You can't tar all of the English with the same brush! A lot of MW members are English don't forget! Oh......I think I've just had a 'deja vu' moment! I must've said this before! confused

It will be an ongoing problem on MW or in the general population. Even if Andy does win a Major
there are always be people who do not like him. Because he is not English or comes from the Home
Counties. What they want is a clone of Tim Henman and Andy is not that.  He is an individual and
tell me why should he even try to be like him. We all have our faults and no one is perfect but I guess
that the way the world works it tough.

You may well have said it before but I'm afraid nothing has changed. I am just stating the truth
I know there are English supporters on the forum. Go outside the forum and I'm sure you will
find a lot of anti Murray comments. I am not being nasty just truthful Caz.

Do you mean on MW or just in general?
I mean everywhere. I think its boring to repeat the same old stories and complaints about Andy and the comment on English football he made some years ago.  yawn

The type of Scots-English banter where we rubbish each other with good hearted banter is just great fun and should continue!

Some people just want their Tim Henman's and Olly Golding's, and will stupidly frown when Andy has a moan, or doesn't quite conform to what they want.  They will console themselves with their ANYONE BUT ANDY mentality, and happily cheer when he loses.  They would do well to remember that it is precisely because he does not conform to some people's tastes that he is so successful, and all the other male British tennis players are absolute pish.  We should be asking why is Andy so successful.  What was different in his upbringing, his tennis education, his mentality?  Probably the main thing is that he wasn't a little LTA clone.  Look at Heather Watson, does anyone seriously think she would have been as successful if she had not gone to Bolletieri's?  Of course not it was the making of her, and there is not the slightest hope she would have been progressing the way she is now if she had not gone over to the US.

Andy has been a success in spite of the LTA and the whole narrow-mindedness of many people.  I don't care if some people don't support him because he is scottish, a bit grumpy sometimes, or whatever.  He should just be himself, and I am glad that he has managed that.  All the rest can just f*** right off in my opinion.  Drink your pims, watch your tennis, and stay out of my way!

Sadly, what I heard in the carpet shop today was all anti Murray and these were all Scots and it was all to do with his general attitude which they all thought was appalling - not anything to do with comments about English football, just about him as a person.  It's a shame really.

The English football comment was a joke, he stated that plenty of times. I love English football, but no way I'm offended with that.

Rolling Eyes I really wish the idiotic Scots nationalists would keep their racist anti-English views and politics out of this forum-or at least off the tennis threads. Personally I find their views an embarrassment to the rest of us Scots.

I managed to get to Queens on Monday & after the rain saw James Ward beat Daniel Cox. Little did I know how well he was going to do later ! I ought to mention for future visitors, that if you want the order of play, you have to pay £4 for it ! I complained on the way out & was told that there was a board by the entrance which tells you who is playing on each court. However most people are concentrating on getting their tickets ready & getting in the right queue, so easily miss it, like me! As far as I know there is no where else where you can see the order of play.
I also saw Andy practicing, plus Del Potro, Simon and Tsonga. It was a good day out !

I picked the wrong day, yesterday. It rained alot, Andy didnt play and they moved James to court 1. Yes it is very expensive £3 for a cup of coffee. Think next year I will watch it on HD (no chance of someone in a big hat sitting in front of you) I can yell as much as I like at the top of my voice too without toffs behind me talking bull****.
