Queens QF: Andy MURRAY vs. Benjamin BECKER

Quote

Could have made it a bit easier on me, but he did do it in straight sets.

I also agree with the theory that some shots, especially things like lobs, take a bit of practice, but it's worth a bit of anxiety at this stage if it means he can have them up and running by the time the more important matches come around.  Just as important as having a brilliant lob is the threat of a brilliant lob to keep the opposition guessing.

Just an off topic question, will the exhibition Andy plays next week be streamed online?

I'm sure they said it's on BBC. ( probably on i-player too )

He won't like that he was broken 3x in 2 sets on grass---will need to play better tommorow, but overall pleased with Grassray he hit some gorgeous shots again today Very Happy

No. At the Hurlingham Club.

Just saw Andy being interviewed (partly by Ross Smile) and he admitted losing concentration, making bad decisions and played some sloppy shots in the 2nd.
Ross asked him about his movement, and Andy said it should help playing more games this year than last, and about how many players come into grass still sliding (from the clay) and how he's been working on taking smaller movements.

Yes, he did Rachie. A few duffers too, mind, just as Becker seemed to step up his game. But, overall, it's job done.

Never in doubt Andy would win this in straight.... he seems to know its no problem if it goes to a tie break... he has a very good chance then of taking it.... he just stays calm now. In the past he was erratic in tie breaks. Now I feel he will win 95% of them

I now know why I cannot watch him.  I am slowly finding the courage by watching the live scores. It should be a SF v Tsonga as Kudla is 112 but you never know. m What number is Becker.

I agree ABF. Despite a couple of frustrating lapses from Andy, I also felt the result was never in doubt.

He does have a great record in 'breakers this year (like last), aside from that semi-final against Federer.
