Would be nice to see a final between Andy/Nole at Wimbledon and Andy winning in tight 4 sets and Nole giving Andy that big precious hug of his. That would be one priceless moment.

Nole would immediately be called "gay" ... lol

Actually I really don't understand why BigNose is still on MW unless it's specifically to troll - only he manages to do it in such a way that he avoids censure.  Pathetic.

Nole is such a clown he probably would start acting like one. I just plain love him! but of course, I love my Andy more.

Just occurred to me at 4 a.m (how sad is that?) that if Andy seemed disinterested yesterday, it could be due to him attempting to preserve energy by not showing his emotions on court!!

I think he's one confused young man at the moment.........when to attack, or not to attack, express himself on court, not show he is injured - oh dear, oh dear.  Much as I hope differently, I can't see any of these problems being sorted out in time for Wimbledon. doh

murrays interview on this site. i still believe in you murray, and i do believe that the bye did not help him, mahut is a decent grass court player and murray had no time to play on grass whereas mahut had a match under his belt

His serve is getting worse with each match now.

Eyebrow raise.  68% is one of his better serve stats.  No figures to hand for the UE's. search

I have just read what Mahut said in his interview.  How nice it was to read the such generous comments.  Even Tsonga said the Murray played very well for his first match on grass with such a competent opponent.

I have just read on anofher site the complaint that Tsonga had such an easy draw and that it serves the organisers right as they have now lost the player splashed all over  their adverts.

Lets hope Andy has a fairer draw at Wimbledon.  RG and Queens were terrible.  I still that he showed great courage and great  play at RG with the worst draw and injury he still came through in no more than 4 sets.  His match against Gasquet was some the best play I have seen recently by him.  It looks as if it is coming together slowly.  I think it is perhaps a good thing he lost yesterday as now he can have the rest we all wanted him to have.  It was even suggested that he did not play Queens.  He had to as he was committed.

I had some concerns when I saw Mahut was in Andy’s draw. I knew he was good on grass. After all he is the man that went to 68-70 in the final set against Isner two years ago. Why is he ranked so low, he gave Federer a fright at RG this year!
I concur with all those who said Andy suffered from the bye which played into Mahut’s hands as he went through a long 3 setter on the same court the day before. Andy would have had to battle hard on any day against such a player who won’t lye down. You cannot wait for him to make errors. I watched the game and I thought there were many times Andy did not attempt to go for wide balls. Did he not want to risk over stretching?! He also had trouble with his range when returning a possible winner he over hit them.

I’m sure Andy if he got through yesterday would have gone deep into the tournament, even won it again. Now Tsonga is the man.

Just watched this. An error strewn and complacent performance from Andy. How many times does Andy break serve then give it straight back? Is anyone counting? This match should have been won at the beginning of the 3rd set.

Also at break points Andy is still waiting for his opponent to miss rather than try to win the point himself. The big 3 don't do this.

All in all another disappointment. The best player won today and the gap between the big 3 and the rest just keeps widening. Andy will raise his game for Wimbledon but he isn't going past the semis. That would still be a great achievement but unfortunately Andy is just not as good a tennis player as we want him to be.

True the best player won yesterday but here's the thing; there isn't a big 3.
Only a big 2 and unless Roger wins a final major he is no more in contention despite the either minor, doctored or timely events he has accumulated points in, & certainly shouldn't be compared to Novak & Rafa at this stage.

Forget the manly hugs.
I read last week that Novak has a toy poodle called Pierre that is apparently always by his side.
Thats all the "gay" a sportsman could possibly need I think.
Even Dale Winters might blush at that one.

I agree to a point, Federer has not won a major for two and a half years. He has been to one final in that time. Andy has been to two finals. Points wise there is still very little between Nadal and Federer (only 750 points) so it still could be argued that there is a Big 3, but for how much longer? As Andy is 2330 points further back but still out on his own at 4th though with Tsonga at 5th some 1750 points further back in the bunch.

If Djoko had won in Paris, Fed would have gone back to No 2, Nadal would have had 9260 points!
