Can you imagine how much of a crier this baby will be, considering who the father is?!

Andys points aren't as bad as they look assuming that he and RF both win their respective tournaments this week. (a usefull 250 points to add on once indianopolis's 0 drops off on 20th July) if Andy can win Wimbledon even if RF reaches the Final Andy will be 60 points ahead of of RF and in Second place.
A big ask I know but 2nd place is still not impossible but if Andy is at his best at Wimbledon he can end up in 2nd. A BIG thank you to Yamors chart to cheering me up once this was worked out.
I just hope that Rafas injury does not knock him out to long as if the above scenario was to playout and he didn't play wimbledon or was knocked out early say by SF then by the end of July he could be down in 3rd place
And the news just gets better........RF has dropped out of Halle this week citing exhaustion after Roland Garros.
"I sincerely apologise to the tournament organisers, my competitors, and my fans in Germany," said Federer.
"I only hope they will understand that I still feel emotionally overwhelmed and exhausted by the incredible events of the past few days."
"It is hard for me to admit, but I simply cannot imagine giving my best effort in another tournament right away."
"I don't want to risk injury if I am not 100% prepared. I need to rest and recuperate."

I guess so but then again 250 points is peanuts for someone who has 11,000+ points.

Again, stolen from MTF, because it looks nice...
for these 4 players only :
For the 6th of july right after Wimbledon
the points so far (taking out last year's Wimbledon) are :
Nadal 10735
Federer 9220
Murray 8730
Djokovic 7730
You have to know that Murray will not have one point more next monday even if he wins the Queens (his last optional result being 250, which is the same as for a victory in the Queens).
Then it's impossible for Murray (or Djokovic) to be number 1 right after Wimbledon.
Apart from Nadal, only Federer can be number 1 on the day after Wimbledon :
for that he has to win Wimbledon and hope that Nadal doesn't reach the semifinal
If that happens, Nadal could maybe take back the number 1 on the 13th of july after the Davis cup in some very special cases ... but then he would lose it two weeks later on the 27th of july.
Then
on the 20th of july
Murray will get his points from the Queens at last, as he will lose his zero-penalty for not taking part in Indianapolis last year :
then on the 20th of july it's theoretically possible that Murray is number 1
: for instance if he wins the Queens and Wimbledon, and Nadal doesn't reach the quarterfinals in Wimbledon.
Then on the 27th of july the points in Toronto last year will fall down
: so far it would be :
Nadal 9735 (=10735-1000 ... + Wimbledon+Davis Cup)
Federer 9210 (=9220-10 ... + Wimbledon)
Murray 8280 (=8730-450 ... + Wimbledon+Queens)
Djokovic 7570 (=7730-250+90 ... + Wimbledon +(Halle-90))
On the 27th of july, both Federer and Murray could be number 1, Djokovic couldn't.
If Federer wins Wimbledon, he will be number one on the 27th of july.
Also Federer would be number 1 if he reaches the final and Nadal doesn't reach the semifinal (and if Murray doesn't win both Wimbledon and the Queens).
Murray should win Wimbledon and
:
- hope that Nadal doesn't reach the semifinal and that Federer doesn't reach the final,
- or if they reach these rounds, he should beat them there (Nadal in semi, Federer in final)
and also
win the Queens.
Then on the 3rd of august the points in Cincinnatti last year will fall down
: so far it would be :
Nadal 9285 (=10735-1000-450 ... + Wimbledon+Davis Cup)
Federer 9060 (=9220-10-150 ... + Wimbledon)
Murray 7280 (=8730-450-1000 ... + Wimbledon+Queens)
Djokovic 6880 (=7730-250-700+90+10 ... + Wimbledon +(Halle-10))
At this moment both Federer and Murray could be number 1, Djokovic couldn't,
but
Murray would have to hope that both Nadal and Federer had a big failure in Wimbledon to be number 1 on the 3rd or August
(Nadal shouldn't reach the quarterfinals and Federer shouldn't reach the semifinal ... in the ideal case where Murray would also win the Queens and Nadal miss the Davis Cup).
Between Nadal and Federer, the one who does the best result in Wimbledon will probably be number 1 on the 3rd of august.
Next event would be Montreal (olympic games last year falling down).

Long shot stuff, but exciting to see it's mathmatically possible!

It's not as long shot as it has been - you know, like Nadal having to lose in the first round etc. Murray could be number 1 by beating Nadal in the semi's and Fed in the final. Theoretically. But the points would be soooooo close with Fed holding two GS's, and Nadal and Murray one each with a further final each.

I know the title of the thread (as I started it) but if Murray wins Wimbledon wouldn't you take him being 3 in the world anyway? That would be HUGE!
