Haven't seen him mentioned for it. Will find out next week when the entry list comes out.

What's the no 2 situation. My understanding is that Nadal has to win the tournament to get it back?

Man, that's the first time I've be pleased about a Djokovic win. Number two seeding confirmed now, right?

This year, same as last year, Andy is tied for points but end up second in the US Open Series.
http://www.usopenseries.com/Standings/Default.aspx
Does anyone know how the US Open Series point system work ?
There must some different set of rules because Andy earned 1360 ranking points in the 2 MS whereas Sam Querry only had about 600 ranking points for the four 250 series tournaments he participated in.

Yep, because Sam has played more matches than Andy, he wins
I think he will win it outright though if he advances deeper into the tournament

The points work like this:
Masters 1000:
W - 100
F - 70
SF - 45
QF - 25
R16 - 15
R32 - 0
500's/250's:
W - 70
F - 45
SF - 25
QF - 15
R16 - 0
Murray has a win and a semi in masters which equals 145 points.
Querrey has a win, a final in "other" tournaments, and a R16 in masters, which equals 130 points. He then reached the QF this week, which gave him 15 points for a total of 145 points.
This was level with Murray, however he was ranked higher because he has won more more matches in the Series.
He has now anyway reached the SF, so currently has a total of 155 points, and is anyway ahead.

For Andy's ranking after the US Open, it's quite simple:
To catch Federer:
Federer has to lose no later then R3, and Murray has to win
To stay ahead of Nadal:
Murray has to reach at least as far as Nadal, unless Nadal loses before R4, in which case he's safe anyway
To stay ahead of Djokovic:
If Djokovic wins, Murray has to reach the semis, otherwise he's anyway safe
Other info
For Nadal to catch up Federer:
Federer has to lose no later then R2, and Nadal has to win
Djokovic cannot catch up Federer
For Djokovic to catch up Nadal:
Djokovic has to win, and Nadal has to lose before the semis
Roddick will catch up Djokovic if he wins and Djokovic loses before the semis
Del Potro will catch up Djokovic if he wins and Djokovic loses before R3

A shock Fed exit and we could have a world number 1 on our hands! Thinking that if fed has anything to do with that its unlikely but anythings possible!
